Date: The Summerhill 4x4 Family Fun Day and Expo 2010 takes place at Natie's Farm outside Hazyview on Friday 4 June 2010 and Saturday 5 June 2010. Follow the R536 from Hazyview towards Sabie, after 3 km you will find the action!
Entry Fee: Please note that a reduced rate will be offered for early entries: R360.00 up to 28.05.2010, R400.00 from 28.05.2010 – 03.06.2010.
Closing time for entries: Entries close 03.06.2010 at 17h00 pm. All participants must register their vehicle on site Friday 4 June 2010 from 16h00 – 19h00, or Saturday 5 June 2010 from 7h00 – 8h00. Only 60 entries will be permitted and proof of pre-payment must accompany your entry form and indemnity form. No late entries will be allowed. You only have to register once on site.
The Competition will be split into two days:Friday 4 June 2010 start at 17h30 – Marshall briefing at 17h00 Saturday 5 June 2010 start at 08h00 – Marshall briefing at 07h30All competitors must register prior to the event, and attend the Chief Marshall briefing on site before the event starts.All competitors will receive a complimentary goody bag upon registration. A complimentary breakfast buffet will be available for all competitors and co-drivers from 07h00 – 08h00 on Saturday 5 June 2010.
Friday 4 June 2010: Treasure Hunt! This part of the competition will score you bonus points, but it will not be compulsory for all entrants to attend this event. The bonus points will be added the total points per entry to calculate the Overall Winner of the Summerhill 4x4 Event. The event will take place on the venue of the Summerhill 4x4, and will start at 17h30, into the night. It is advisable for competitors to have lights on their vehicles, as well as torches and / or headlamps. There will be a fair amount of searching for clues in the surrounding area for this event, and competitors may win spot prizes. The accent is on fun, and this event will offer excellent night spectating at demarcated points. The event should not take more than 2 hours to complete, and competitors who can not enter at 17h30 may still start the event up to 19h00, or the time decided upon by the Chief Marshall. Saturday 5 June 2010: Obstacle Course! This part of the competition is for showing off your 4x4 skills and your vehicle’s ability to manoeuvre itself over or through 8 challenging obstacles. It will not be compulsory to enter each obstacle, but each obstacle scores you points and the winner with the most points combined from the two day’s events will win the Overall Prize. The obstacles are at the venue of the Summerhill 4x4 Event, and the competitors and their co-drivers are all invited for a complimentary breakfast and coffee sponsored by Casa do Sol, served in the beer tent at 7h00 – 8h00. The Chief Marshall’s briefing will be at 7h30, and all cars will be checked if they are in the correct category they entered into. The competition will start at 8h00 and should finish at 15h00. A voluntary show stopper at the end of the event will score you bonus points. Prize giving will be in the Beer Tent at 18h00.
